Polk Co Ryderz officially kicked off its first bike night Saturday, August 8, at Wally’s in Lakeland, Florida — and even with rain in the forecast the turnout didn’t disappoint.
Florida Ride Society joined Polk Co Ryderz for the occasion, with riders meeting up earlier in the evening for a 33-mile ride before making their way to Wally’s.
And once the bikes started filling the lot, there was plenty to see.
Sportbikes, cruisers and custom builds were scattered throughout the lot, including one that was nearly impossible to overlook — a Sea-Doo transformed into a three-wheeled street machine. And it didn’t just attract attention because of its appearance. Its massive sound system kept the music going throughout the evening and essentially became the bike night’s soundtrack.
There wasn’t a DJ, a row of vendors or an elaborate lineup of activities — and the night didn’t need them.
Instead, much of the evening was spent doing what bike nights have always done best: giving riders a place to pull up, walk the lot, check out each other’s bikes, catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones, too!
For a first official bike night, the turnout gave Polk Co Ryderz a strong starting point and showed there’s an appetite for more bike events in the area.
The mix of motorcycles was just as varied as the people who brought them. If Saturday was any indication of what Polk Co Ryderz is building, this was only the beginning.
